Reuniting with Old Friends

Not too long ago, thanks to MySpace, I was able to reunite with some old friends whom I haven’t seen in about 5 years.  Way back in the day, I used to party with these guys.  Consequently, I never really thought of them as career people, so I was duly impressed when I found that they all had stable careers.

Interestingly, about two-thirds of my old group of friends now work in the health and medical industries, with quite a few of them being nurses.  I guess it’s a pretty good industry to work in — because there’s a shortage of qualified workers, there is a lot of job stability, and a good potential for high wages.

There are quite a few career colleges nationwide that offer health career training programs.  For instance, Stanford Brown is a well known school with campuses all over the United States.  The Sanford Brown Atlanta campus offers quite a few great medical programs, including medical billing and coding, cardiovascular technology, diagnostic medical sonography, and even massage therapy.  The Sanford Brown Houston campus offers these same programs, plus a great program for aspiring pharmaceutical technicians.  Sanford Brown New York also offers programs in ultrasound and radiography.

I’m really happy that my old party buddies have been able to find careers where they are happy and successful.  It’s always fun to catch up with old friends, but even more so when they have good news to share!
