The Importance of Knowing What You Want

You just can’t get anywhere in life without knowing what you want out of it.

Take your education and career, for instance.  I knew a woman who didn’t know what she wanted to do with her career.  She liked to cook and thought she might like to switch to a culinary arts degree, but couldn’t get up the gumption to actually do it.  Because she avoided making a decision for so long, she ended up with a degree she didn’t like that much.

If you are interested in attending a culinary institute, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t.  The hospitality and culinary arts industries are booming, and there are many job opportunities for ambitious individuals who have the proper culinary training.

Likewise, if an online degree is the best choice for you, then don’t hesitate to pursue it.  When family and friends close to you doubt the wisdom of getting your education online, it might make you hold off on making the decision, even though you really know it’s the best one for you.  Unfortunately, waiting too long to make your decision means wasting time — by the time you actually decide to do it, you could have been halfway through with your degree had you started right away.
